Job Title: Weekend Advocate
Shifts available are:
Must be available to take one on-call weekend each month for our emergency phone.
Overview:
We are seeking dedicated Advocacy Staff to join our team and provide oversight and exceptional care to individuals in need. As an evening/weekend advocate staff member, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our residents throughout the weekend.
Duties:
- Security and Safety Checks:
- Support for Residents:
- Be available for emotional support and crisis intervention if residents need someone to talk to.
- Assist with any urgent needs of residents, such as accessing medical assistance or addressing immediate concerns.
- Enforcement of Rules and Policies:
- Ensure that residents adhere to house rules and guidelines.
- Address any behavioral issues that may arise and document incidents as required.
- Housekeeping and Maintenance:
- Perform housekeeping (both deep clean and light tasks) to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of common areas.
- Report any maintenance issues or repairs that need attention to the appropriate personnel.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate logs and records of weekend activities, incidents, and any interactions with residents.
- Complete any administrative duties assigned during the night shift,
- Coordination with other weekend staff and weekday staff:
- Communicate effectively with other staff to ensure continuity of care and information sharing regarding resident issues or concerns.
- Training and Development:
- Participate in ongoing training sessions and staff meetings to stay informed about policies, procedures, and best practices for supporting young BIPOC mothers.
- Be prepared to initiate emergency protocols if necessary, such as evacuation procedures or contacting emergency services.
- Building Positive Community Atmosphere:
- Foster a supportive and respectful atmosphere among residents and staff members.
- Encourage positive interactions and community-building activities among residents.
These duties are crucial for providing a secure and supportive environment for our young BIPOC mothers. The weekend staff plays a vital role in ensuring that the needs of residents are met during off business hours and in maintaining a safe living environment overall.
