Due to an internal leadership transition, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Director to assume responsibility for one of the company's most established global client relationships. This is a high-profile leadership position overseeing a mature, long-standing account within the financial services sector, requiring an exceptional facilities management professional who can balance strategic client leadership with operational excellence across an international portfolio.
The Opportunity
The Account Director will have overall responsibility for a major global Integrated Facilities Management contract valued at approximately $20 million, supporting a prestigious financial services client.
The portfolio consists of approximately 30-40 locations across around 30 countries, with responsibility for leading a team of approximately 100 employees through a combination of direct reports and regional leadership teams.
Reporting into executive leadership, the successful individual will act as the senior point of contact for the client, ensuring contractual delivery, financial performance, operational consistency and long-term strategic partnership.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing leadership role requiring an experienced facilities management professional capable of leading global operations whilst building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Leadership
- Provide overall leadership of a complex international FM portfolio spanning multiple countries and regions.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned with both client objectives and business goals.
- Act as the executive sponsor for the client relationship, building credibility with senior stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Lead governance meetings, executive business reviews and strategic planning sessions.
Operational Management
- Ensure consistent delivery of contracted facilities management services across all locations.
- Drive operational excellence through standardised processes, performance management and best practice sharing.
- Partner with regional operational leaders to maintain service consistency across international locations.
- Monitor key performance indicators, contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Resolve complex operational issues while maintaining exceptional client service.
Financial Leadership
- Hold full accountability for a global portfolio with annual revenues of approximately $20 million.
- Manage overall P&L performance, ensuring financial targets are achieved or exceeded.
- Deliver accurate forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability through operational efficiencies and commercial initiatives.
- Ensure effective cost management whilst maintaining high service standards.
Client Relationship Management
- Build trusted relationships with executive-level client stakeholders.
- Understand the client's evolving business objectives and align FM strategies accordingly.
- Lead contract governance and performance reviews.
- Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen the long-term partnership.
- Maintain exceptional levels of client satisfaction through responsive leadership and strategic engagement.
People Leadership
- Lead, mentor and develop a global team of approximately 100 facilities professionals.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable and high-performing culture.
- Support succession planning, leadership development and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure teams are aligned around common objectives and performance expectations.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Quality, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations, corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
- Champion a strong culture of health, safety and compliance across the account.
- Monitor operational risks and implement mitigation strategies where required.
- Ensure governance processes are consistently applied across all regions.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Management leader with a proven track record of managing large-scale, international client accounts. The successful candidate will be an accomplished relationship builder who combines commercial awareness with operational leadership and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
You will demonstrate:
- Significant experience leading large, complex Integrated Facilities Management contracts.
- Proven success managing global or multi-national client portfolios.
- Strong commercial acumen with full P&L responsibility.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed operational teams.
- Excellent executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to operate confidently within highly professional corporate environments.
- A strategic mindset balanced with a hands-on approach to operational leadership.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience working with enterprise-level corporate clients.
- The ability to lead through influence across multiple regions and cultures.
Preferred Experience
- Extensive experience within Integrated Facilities Management (IFM).
- Previous responsibility for global or international FM accounts.
- Financial services, banking or corporate headquarters experience would be advantageous.
- Experience managing complex outsourced service delivery models.
- Demonstrated success in leading large operational teams across multiple countries.
