Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of grilled items, including meats, vegetables, and seafood, following established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and functioning properly
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new grilled dishes and seasonal specials based on culinary trends and guest preferences
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures, storage guidelines, and sanitation protocols
- Support food preparation tasks such as marinating, portioning, and assembling ingredients for efficient service
- Ensure timely delivery of orders while maintaining quality control throughout the cooking process
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy service periods and catering events
Experience
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment, preferably with grill or barbecue stations
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to food safety, handling, and sanitation practices
- Culinary experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques including knife skills and grilling methods
- Exposure to fine dining or catering environments is a plus, demonstrating versatility in food presentation and quality standards
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and teamwork dynamics within a busy culinary setting
- Experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is beneficial but not required; enthusiasm for learning new culinary skills is essential
