EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position supports dental care services within the correctional setting by assisting the Dentist and preparing for daily procedures. You will help maintain efficient operations, ensure proper equipment readiness, and support accurate records and patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will perform the following duties:

Chairside Support: Assist the Dentist during procedures by preparing tools, charting findings, and managing suction and irrigation

Procedure Preparation: Prepare workspaces, sterilize equipment, mix materials, and ready patients for treatment

Radiograph Processing: Take, process, mount, and evaluate dental radiographs for diagnostic quality

Impression Work: Take impressions and create diagnostic casts, ensuring proper quality and preparation

Record Management: Schedule appointments, maintain dental files, and ensure documentation accuracy

Patient Guidance: Explain preventative and post-procedure care instructions clearly and respectfully

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday. You will not work evenings or weekends.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108.00 (before taxes).
