Position: Veterinary Medical Professional
Job Type: Full-time (32-40)
Location: Buffalo, MN (Serving Wright County and all surrounding communities)
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Surgical Support: Assist the Veterinarian during procedures and surgeries, ensuring the safe handling and preparation of animals.
- Animal Care: Prepare shelter animals for surgery and adoption, ensuring their comfort and safety. Administer medications and vaccinations as required.
- Clinic Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the clinic and surgical areas, including surgical pack preparation and lab upkeep.
- Client Interaction: Provide support in our wellness clinic & reception, working with clients on animal health matters.
- Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in the shelter’s database.
Required Qualifications:
- Veterinary Clinic Experience - Required
- Shelter Experience: Preferred but not required.
- GED or high school diploma
Skills:
- Ability to pre-medicate and induce patients, intubate animals, and prepare them for surgery.
- Proficient in administering medications, vaccinations, and maintaining clinical records.
- Ability to work with fractious or feral animals using appropriate safety equipment.
- Thrives in people-focused environments
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in a physically and mentally demanding environment
