Job duties:
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on production equipment, including conveyors, motors, hydraulic systems, CNC machinery, rolling mills, furnaces, presses, heat tunnels, shrink-wrap equipment, and automated production systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related equipment issues.
- Inspect, adjust, fabricate, repair, or replace components such as motors, pumps, valves, belts, bearings, sensors, control systems, spindles, and conveyors.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams to identify and resolve equipment problems.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning of new machinery.
- Execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs and support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize operational disruptions.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, inventory of parts and supplies, and work orders.
- Perform general facility maintenance, including lighting, plumbing, and building repairs, as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, steel, or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated production systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment, including CNC machinery, conveyors, motors, hydraulic presses, rolling mills, furnaces, and related production equipment.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
