We are seeking a Development Engineer to support the development, qualification, and introduction of new MRI gradient coils. This role is responsible for introducing new products into the gradient engineering build cells, improving existing products to enhance performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost, and providing technical support across global MRI manufacturing operations.
The Development Engineer will work closely with the rest of the gradient engineering team to develop robust, high-quality, and cost-effective solutions that meet product and program objectives.
**No sponsorship or OPT EAD for this role**
Roles and Responsibilities
-
Develop and maintain engineering work instructions and in-process test procedures for MRI gradient coil manufacturing and assembly.
-
Collaborate with the rest of the gradient engineering team to translate design intent into repeatable and compliant manufacturing processes.
-
Serve as the technical liaison between gradient coil design engineering and manufacturing operations.
-
Support design transfer activities and provide subject matter expertise during product introduction and manufacturing ramp-up.
-
Lead and participate in technical reviews, program meetings, and cross-functional project teams.
-
Communicate project status, technical findings, risks, and achievements to stakeholders and leadership.
-
Prepare technical reports related to research and development activities, product investigations, and manufacturing or field issues.
-
Support manufacturing operations at global MRI sites and provide technical support for the installed product base.
-
Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and processes, including:
-
Coil assembly methods
-
Heavy wire winding
-
Brazing and soldering processes
-
Vacuum and pressure potting systems
