Experienced Countertop Templater
Responsible for meeting with customers and taking measurements for countertops, vanities, bars, window sills, etc. - measuring, templating and drawing fabrication jobs. Prepare templates and handover to Engineering/Production for cutting.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have previous work experience either templating (measuring) or installing natural stone. Experience using a Laser Templator System as well as AutoCAD software for granite, countertop shop drawings is preferred. Time management, problem solving and customer service skills are all key qualities needed; industry knowledge is a plus! Other relevant work experience would be a carpenter, contractor, framer, cabinet installer, or other tradesman.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Arriving at scheduled appointments at customer locations within an agreed-upon window of time (example: first job arrival between 8 – 10am, 2ndjob between 11:00 – 2:00 etc.). Windows depend on the scope of work scheduled throughout the day.
- Once arrived at customer location, Templater is expected to measure for (or “template”) and assemble templates that would serve as exact dimensions for interior stone applications, in conjunction with the job specifications written on a completed sales order by the salesperson. Examples of applications include kitchen countertops, bathroom vanity tops, fireplace surrounds, Jacuzzi tub decks, shower seats, thresholds, etc. Work orders (or production specification orders) are completed by the Templater, noting all required measurements, polished edges, cutouts (sinks, cook tops, faucet holes), plus radiuses in the tops and any other necessary specifications desired by the customer for the job.
- Any unconfirmed information about the job (such as missing faucet specs, missing cooktop specs, etc) is the responsibility of the Templater along with the salesperson to find out any missing information in order to complete the work order and template.
- During the templating appointment, it is necessary to provide critical information to the customer concerning the templating and installation processes. Professionalism is absolutely critical!
- Templater is expected to communicate any relevant information about the job to the salesperson, Operations staff or Production staff on a timely basis.
- All work orders and their completed templates are expected to be handed into the office no later than 24-48 hours from the time of templating.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete fabrication drawings for shop & installation use.
- Work and communicate with shop, office, installation & sales personnel.
- Process shop orders according to set procedures.
- Create and/or modify templates for fabrication.
- Work and communicate with the customer regarding job layout and scheduling delays.
- Actively solicits cooking and sink information from customers.
- Establish a job photo package in a timely fashion.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Organization, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Thoroughness, Decision Making, Independence, Analyzing Information, Results Driven, Energy Level. Must have valid driver’s license with clean DMV report and must be able to pass background/drug screen.

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
