Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Electrical Project Manager to join our Commercial Industrial Division. In this vital role, you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects from inception to completion. Your expertise in electrical engineering, system design, and construction management will drive project success while ensuring adherence to safety standards, budgets, and schedules. Responsibilities
- Assist in developing detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management software to ensure timely project delivery.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate smooth communication and workflow throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the review and interpretation of blueprints, schematics, and system designs to verify compliance with project specifications and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Contribute to construction estimating processes by preparing accurate cost assessments using HeavyBid or comparable tools.
- Oversee construction site activities, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Assist in managing contracts, change orders, and procurement activities to optimize project resources and minimize delays.
- Utilize tools such as ProCore and Bluebeam for document control, RFIs (Request for Information), submittals, and field reporting.
- Support project scheduling efforts by tracking progress, updating timelines, and identifying potential risks early for proactive mitigation.
- Collaborate with the project team on system design modifications or troubleshooting electrical issues during construction phases.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical engineering principles, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical construction projects within commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, schematics reading, NEC standards, and blueprint interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with construction site management including safety protocols and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively through time management techniques.
- Proficiency in project management tools like ProCore and Bluebeam for documentation and communication purposes.
- Ability to read technical schematics and system designs accurately while coordinating multiple stakeholders.
