We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Business Development & Pre-Construction Manager to lead our growth initiatives and oversee the early stages of project planning within the construction industry. This role combines business development, client relationship management, estimating coordination, scope development, proposal management, and project pursuit activities. The ideal candidate understands construction, can confidently walk properties, identify opportunities, develop scopes of work, coordinate pricing, and build long-term client relationships that generate recurring business.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Growth Responsibility
- Develop relationships with multifamily property management companies, ownership groups, and asset managers.
- Schedule and conduct property visits throughout all of Florida.
- Attend industry networking events, trade shows, apartment association meetings, and client events.
- Generate new business opportunities and maintain an active sales pipeline.
- Expand services within existing client accounts.
- Conduct regular client check-ins and property walks.
- Identify upcoming capital improvement and renovation opportunities.
- Track all opportunities and activities within company CRM systems.
Pre-Construction & Proposal Management Responsibility
- Conduct site visits and gather project information.
- Develop scopes of work and conceptual budgets.
- Coordinate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare estimates and proposals.
- Manage proposal submissions and follow-up activities.
- Work closely with project managers and operations to ensure smooth project handoff.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings as needed.
Relationship Management Responsibility
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for property improvement needs.
- Respond quickly to client requests and opportunities.
- Build long-term partnerships that generate repeat business.
Skills
- 3+ years of construction estimating, project management, pre-construction, business development, or related experience (REQUIRED).
- Experience within multifamily, commercial, or general contracting industries (REQUIRED).
- Ability to understand construction drawings, scopes of work, and project budgets.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable conducting site walks and client meetings.
- Proficient with BuilderTrend.
- Travel (REQUIRED)
