Role: Corporate Employment Counsel
Location: Edison, NJ Office - the role requires candidate to be onsite at TCS NY office or TCS NJ office 5 days a week
Job Description:
TCS is seeking a senior employment law attorney with experience litigating and advising on U.S. employment law matters. The successful candidate will report to the Associate General Counsel – Head of Legal, USA, and will provide legal support to the Human Resources department.
Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive, day-to-day employment law advice, assistance, and counseling
- Partner with HR to manage and respond to employee relations issues, investigations, and grievances
- Draft, customize, and update separation and release agreements for terminating employees
- Review disciplinary actions and terminations in collaboration with HR
- Assist in managing and responding to subpoenas and document requests
- Recommend, implement, and continuously improve employment law–related training programs
- Respond to administrative complaints and Department of Labor investigations
- Maintain employment law files and databases
- Respond to EEOC complaints and agency inquiries
- Assist with employment-related litigation matters
- Provide guidance to other employment counsel and help develop employment practice strategy
- Manage and supervise outside counsel, as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience focused on employment law and litigation; prior in-house experience preferred
- Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school and admission in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state
- Strong analytical skills, judgment, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work proactively and independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively within the legal team and cross-functionally with other groups
- Willingness to take on matters outside of core expertise, as needed
- Ability to work closely with HR and legal team members; this is an on-site role and not a work-from-home position
Salary Range: $138,600 - $191,400 a year
