Duties
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately place rebar according to specifications.
- Cut, bend, and shape rebar using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to fit designated forms.
- Install rebar within concrete forms, ensuring proper placement and secure fastening for structural integrity.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other trades to coordinate tasks on-site and ensure seamless workflow.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe construction environment during rebar installation, concrete pouring, and finishing.
- Assist with concrete pouring, finishing, and cutting tasks as needed to support project timelines.
- Operate heavy equipment such as concrete mixers and pumps to facilitate efficient project completion.
Requirements
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on rebar installation or related trades such as masonry or carpentry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and technical specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and familiarity with concrete forming, cutting, finishing, and pouring techniques.
- Understanding of construction workplace safety regulations and the importance of adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving on-site.
