Pool Maintenance Technician
Build Yourself to Serve Others.
This role is not for everyone — and that’s by design.
At ProActive Pool Solutions, our long-term vision goes far beyond pools.
We exist to develop disciplined, capable professionals — people who take ownership of their growth, constantly sharpen their skills, and use that progress to better their future selves, their families, and the communities they’re part of.
That vision comes first.
Everything else supports it.
How We Do That (Our Mission)
The way we develop people is through real responsibility and real standards.
Our mission is to make pool ownership as carefree and enjoyable as possible for our clients. That outcome demands consistency, technical skill, professionalism, and pride in work — the exact traits that create growth in the people doing the job.
It’s simple, but not easy.
And that’s the point.
The Role: Pool Maintenance Technician
This role is the entry point into that development.
As a Pool Maintenance Technician, you’ll be trusted to:
- Maintain and service residential pools to a high standard
- Learn mechanical, hydraulic, and chemical systems from the ground up
- Diagnose problems and take ownership of solutions
- Work independently while representing ProActive in clients’ backyards
- Build efficiency, technical skill, and confidence over time
You don’t need pool experience to start.
You do need the right mindset.
Who Wins Here:
-You’ll likely win in this role if you:
- Enjoy understanding how systems work and fixing them
- Take pride in doing things the right way, even when no one is watching
- Want to earn more by becoming more capable — not by waiting longer
- Take responsibility for your results
- Want your work to mean something beyond a paycheck
If you’re looking for “just a job,” this won’t be a fit.
If you’re looking to become better, keep reading.
How We Develop Our People:
-We invest heavily in people who invest in themselves. That includes:
- Structured, paid training (no guesswork, no “figure it out” culture)
- Clear performance standards and expectations
- Coaching, feedback, and accountability
- Increasing responsibility as your skills grow
You will not be micromanaged.
You will be challenged.
Our Core Values:
-We hire, promote, and make hard decisions based on these values:
See problems early. Act before being asked.
Results matter. Excuses don’t.
Your skills, mindset, and standards should compound over time.
Opportunity is created through effort, skill, and ownership — not entitlement.
We improve ourselves to better serve others.
Growth here is not selfish. It starts with you — and extends outward to your family, your community, and the clients we serve.
If these values don’t resonate, this role will feel heavy instead of energizing.
Compensation & Performance:
We believe in pay for performance, not tenure.
- Base pay starts at $18/hour
- After training, technicians earn a percentage of the labor revenue they produce
- Top performers consistently earn $25+/hour
- You directly influence your income through skill, efficiency, and ownership
This is a full-time, year-round position. No seasonal layoffs.
Requirements (Hard Lines):
- Valid NC driver’s license with a clean 3-year driving record
- Physically able to walk throughout the day and lift up to 80 lbs
- Pass a drug screening
- No felonies or DUI
What We Provide:
- Company truck and tools
- Paid training
- Paid time off
- 401(k) with company match
- Life insurance
- Cell phone reimbursement
- A leadership team that treats you like a professional — because we expect you to act like one
Final Word:
This role will challenge you. It will develop you. And it will reward you — if you earn it.
-If you want comfort, look elsewhere. If you want growth, ownership, and pride in your work — apply.
