Two openings are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year, serving students near Tucumcari, NM. The school environment offers an engaging four-day workweek (Monday through Thursday, eight hours per day), providing both impactful teaching time and longer weekends.
In this role, you will partner with a supportive team and make a direct difference by delivering specialized instruction to youth with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The caseload is varied, including students identified with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Other Health Impairments (OHI), Speech-Language Impairments, and other exceptionalities as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification in Special Education (Preferred: Middle and/or High School endorsement)
- Background working with students in grades 6–12
- Experience managing small-group and individual instruction for students with IEPs
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, compliance documentation, and best practices for inclusion
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with staff and families
- Adaptability to meet diverse learning and behavioral needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and intervention for students with various disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Conduct progress monitoring and maintain required documentation
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and team planning
- Support a positive and inclusive classroom environment
