Dental Hygienist Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our patient focused dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. You will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, taking x-rays, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dentist in various procedures. The position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient care.
Dental Hygienist Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Take and interpret medical imaging as necessary to assist in diagnosis.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy of patient information.
- Assist in infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Measure and record vital signs as required during patient assessments.
- Collaborate with the dentist on treatment plans and procedures.
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft for patient management.
Dental Hygienist Skills
- Proficient in medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Experience with Dentrix or Eaglesoft software is preferred.
- Understanding of general dentistry practices and procedures.
- Ability to manage medical records effectively, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Skilled in documentation review processes to uphold quality standards.
- Knowledge of infection control measures within a dental setting.
- Capability to assess and record vital signs accurately.
