Deer Park, NY based container drayage company seeks experienced owner operator with late model tandem axle tractor to pick up, deliver, and return import ocean containers from Port Newark, NJ.
Import containers deliver to tri-state area and all of Long Island.
Live offload & drop container operation. All no touch freight deliveries.
Haz-Mat endorsement is a plus.
Duties
- Safely operate a tractor trailer and secure intermodal containers to chassis for transport across designated routes.
- Pick up full container at port, deliver to customer & return empty container to proper depot.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Deliver freight accurately to various destinations while adhering to route schedules and delivery windows.
- Manage documentation including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and inspection reports with precision and attention to detail.
- Maintain communication with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route adjustments, or any issues encountered during transit.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, traffic laws, and company policies during every trip.
Skills
- Proven experience in driving commercial class A CDL tractor trailer.
- Strong knowledge of NY tri-state area.
- Familiarity with NJ ports. Maher terminals, APM terminal, PNCT, Port Liberty NY & Port Liberty Bayonne.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Pay: $750.00 - $4,000.00 per week
