POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Admissions plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of AUA and AUACAS by leading strategic recruitment initiatives and managing the admissions process for prospective pre-med and medical students. This position requires a dynamic, results-oriented individual who can effectively engage with perspective students, partner with internal and external stakeholders, and drive enrollment goals. The Associate Director will be part of a team of admissions advisors, ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standards, and contribute to the overall growth and reputation of AUA and AUACAS.
Associate Director of Admissions reports to the Director of Admissions, the Associate Director of Admissions assists in the management of student recruitment strategies for AUA and AUACAS in an assigned territory by developing and executing a territory management plan. Responsible for identifying, interviewing and packing students for admission committee’s review. Follow up and guide potential students through the AUA and AUACAS enrollment processes.
The ADA will cover identified states in the Northeast and be responsible for creating and maintaining productive and ongoing relationships with pre-professional academic advisors at colleges and universities within the region. The potential candidate will also be responsible for generating new leads by arranging and delivering presentations to key pre-medical student interest groups at their regularly-scheduled meetings. The position requires participation in regional information sessions and/or webinars, manning the “Live Chat” function provided by our corporate web site and responding appropriately to questions from prospective students and participating in health professions and graduate school fairs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates from target markets, including North America, the Caribbean, and other international regions.
- Recruit new medical students for AUA through contacting students via phone, email and conducting in person, phone and or online interviews.
- Analyze market trends, admissions data, and competitor activity to inform recruitment tactics and enrollment forecasting.
- Follow up with new applicants to collect entrance requirements, guiding the applicant through the enrollment process
- Represent AUA at recruitment fairs, conferences, university visits, and virtual events to promote the institution and build relationships with prospective students and pre-health advisors.
- Creating and maintaining productive and ongoing relationships with pre-professional academic advisors at colleges and universities within the region
- Generating new leads by arranging and delivering presentations to key pre-medical student interest groups at their regularly scheduled meetings
- Oversee the end-to-end admissions process, from inquiry to enrollment, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and an exceptional candidate experience.
- Review applications, conduct interviews, and participate in admissions committee deliberations to select candidates who align with AUA’s mission and standards.
- Participation in regional information sessions and/or webinars
- Responsible for the “Live Chat” function provided by our corporate website and responding appropriately to questions from prospective students
- Collaborate with marketing, communications, and student services teams to align messaging and optimize the student journey.
- Utilize the CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and admissions software to track candidate pipelines, monitor conversion rates, and generate detailed reports for leadership.
- Leverage data insights to refine recruitment strategies, improve operational efficiency, and achieve enrollment targets.
- Participating in health professions and graduate school fairs
- Escalate appropriate instructional questions or unresolved questions to the National Director of Admissions
- Produce system reports when required or requested.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- May require some night and weekend hours.
- Work productively from a remote home office with minimal direct supervision
- Work productively from a remote home office covering the Great Lakes states
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Northeast, Antigua and Nationwide
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Employee must be highly detail oriented, well organized and able to multitask. You must have strong written and verbal communication skills. You must have a Bachelor’s degree and experience working in higher education. Medical Education background preferred. You must have an expert level of proficiency in Excel and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with student management systems is preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, or public relations, enrollment management, preferably in medical education or higher education.
- Familiarity with international student recruitment and admissions processes is highly desirable
Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
- High level of cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of an international student body.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Knowledge of medical school accreditation standards and compliance requirements is a plus.
