About FleetUp
FleetUp is a Global AI Fleet & Asset Operations Platform serving enterprises, governments, insurers, and industrial operators across the US, Latin America, and the Middle East. We are moving beyond traditional telematics — building an AI-driven operational control layer that connects vehicles, assets, cargo, drivers, and workflows into one intelligent system.
Through our AI Convergence Project, we are converting FleetUp's business knowledge, operational data, and customer interactions into scalable AI agents, automations, and applications — spanning AI customer support, AI dashcam video intelligence, AI reporting, and AI-driven decision support.
About the Role
This is a builder and operator role, not a research role. And we want you to take it as a mission, not just a job.
Our CEO and Engineering team design and validate AI agent prototypes and automation workflows. Your mission is to take these confirmed designs and turn them into production-grade FleetUp AI systems — then keep them running, measured, and improving.
You will work on-site at FleetUp HQ in San Jose, meeting directly with the CEO of FleetUp in the office to receive designs, review builds, and shape the AI Convergence roadmap. This is a rare, front-row opportunity to see how AI strategy is designed at the executive level and executed in production — and to grow with it.
What You Will Do
- Rebuild — Take AI agent prototypes and workflow designs confirmed by the CEO and Engineering, and re-engineer them into stable, production-ready builds
- Publish — Deploy AI agents and automations into live FleetUp operations (customer support, reporting, video labeling, internal workflows) as official FleetUp AI services
- Operate — Monitor performance, handle exceptions, maintain uptime, and ensure AI workflows run reliably 24/7
- Upgrade — Continuously improve prompts, logic, data connections, and orchestration based on performance data and new requirements
- Document — Maintain clear build documentation, versioning, and operational runbooks so every AI system is transferable and auditable
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building with LLM platforms and AI agents (Claude / Anthropic API, OpenAI, or similar) — prompt design, tool use, agent workflows
- Experience with AI orchestration and automation platforms, especially Make.com (or Zapier, n8n) — multi-step scenarios, API integrations, error handling
- Practical understanding of AI automation and data pipelines — connecting APIs, webhooks, CRMs (e.g., HubSpot), email, and databases into working systems
- Ability to work independently from a confirmed design: take a spec, build it, test it, ship it
- Strong written communication in English; comfortable documenting systems clearly
Nice to Have
- Software engineering background (JavaScript/Python, REST APIs, Google Apps Script) — a strong plus
- Experience operating or monitoring production automations (logging, alerting, QA)
- Familiarity with RAG, structured outputs, or AI evaluation/QA workflows
- Interest in logistics, fleet operations, IoT, or B2B SaaS
Why This Is a Mission, Not Just a Job
- Real production ownership — your builds go live to real enterprise, government, and industrial customers, not a sandbox
- Direct access to the CEO — regular in-office working sessions with the CEO of FleetUp on the company's AI Convergence roadmap
- Growth opportunity — learn how an AI-first company is built from the inside: strategy, build, deployment, and operations, end to end
- Portfolio-grade work — ship named AI systems (support agents, video intelligence QA, automated reporting) you can point to
- Conversion path — strong performers will be considered for a full-time Junior AI Engineer position at the end of the internship term
