LANDSCAPE CREW LEADER / DRIVER
Driver's License Required | Trailer Towing Required | Full-Time
Living Oaks Landscaping is seeking a dependable Crew Leader to operate a company truck and trailer, follow a daily route, and develop, train, and direct crew members while performing landscape maintenance and property improvement projects throughout the Outer Banks and surrounding areas.
This is a working leadership position. Applicants should be comfortable performing physical labor while also taking responsibility for crew development, equipment, route completion, quality control, customer interactions, and overall team productivity.
This is not a light-duty position and is best suited for individuals with landscaping, construction, farming, tree service, utility, or other physically demanding outdoor work experience.
Responsibilities:
- Drive company truck and trailer daily
- Safely transport equipment between properties
- Follow assigned routes and schedules
- Develop, train, and direct crew members to meet company quality and productivity standards
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and accountability for assigned team members
- Perform mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing
- Complete landscape maintenance and property improvement projects
- Assist with landscape installation, construction-related labor, and special projects as needed
- Load, unload, secure, and maintain equipment
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
- Assist in the training and development of new employees
- Communicate with management regarding route progress, employee performance, equipment issues, and property concerns
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while interacting with customers
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License (Required)
- Clean driving record and ability to pass MVR review
- Experience towing trailers preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from our shop in Powell's Point
- Strong attendance and punctuality
- Ability to arrive ready to work by 6:45 AM each workday
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements:
This position is physically demanding and is not a light-duty role.
Applicants must be able to:
- Work outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, and varying weather conditions
- Walk, lift, push, pull, bend, and carry materials throughout the workday
- Repeatedly lift and carry 50+ pounds
- Operate commercial landscaping equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a productive pace during 8–10 hour shifts
- Assist with landscape construction, material movement, digging, loading debris, and other labor-intensive tasks as needed
Professional Standards:
Crew Leaders are entrusted with company vehicles, trailers, equipment, customer properties, and company reputation. Employees are expected to maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times while representing Living Oaks Landscaping.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted in company vehicles, while actively working, or on customer properties. Employees who smoke or vape may do so only during authorized breaks and in approved areas away from customers, company vehicles, and equipment.
Employees are expected to report to work fit for duty, maintain a professional appearance, and provide courteous service to customers and coworkers.

- Reporting location: Powell's Point, NC
- Sundays Off
- Occasional Saturdays may be required due to weather delays or unusual production demands
