LANDSCAPE LABORER / DRIVER
Driver's License Required | Trailer Towing Preferred | Full-Time
Living Oaks Landscaping is seeking a dependable Landscape Laborer / Driver to operate a company truck and trailer while performing residential landscape installations, property improvements, and landscape maintenance throughout the Outer Banks and surrounding areas.
This is a physically demanding position for someone who enjoys working outdoors and isn't afraid of hard work. Employees will perform a variety of tasks including lawn mowing, landscape maintenance, planting, mulching, grading, drainage improvements, sod installation, material movement, and other residential landscape construction projects. Every day is different, and employees should be comfortable working on both maintenance and installation crews as business needs require.
We are looking for dependable individuals who take pride in producing quality work, enjoy working with their hands, and want to build a long-term career in the landscape industry.
This is not a light-duty position and is best suited for individuals with landscaping, construction, farming, tree service, utility, or other physically demanding outdoor work experience.
Responsibilities
- Drive a company truck and trailer to and from job sites
- Safely transport equipment, tools, and materials
- Perform lawn mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, pruning, and general landscape maintenance
- Assist with residential landscape installations including planting, mulching, sod installation, drainage improvements, grading, and landscape bed construction
- Assist with hardscape preparation, excavation, material movement, and other outdoor construction projects
- Load, unload, secure, and maintain equipment, trailers, and materials
- Operate commercial landscaping equipment safely and efficiently
- Dig, rake, shovel, wheelbarrow, and perform strenuous manual labor throughout the workday
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Work safely while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and customers
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License (Required)
- Clean driving record with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
- Trailer towing experience preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from our shop in Powell's Point
- Ability to arrive ready to work by 6:45 AM each workday
- Strong attendance and punctuality
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position and is not a light-duty role.
Applicants must be able to:
- Work outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, cold, and varying weather conditions
- Walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, push, pull, and carry materials throughout the workday
- Repeatedly lift and carry 50+ pounds
- Dig, rake, shovel, move stone, mulch, soil, plants, and other landscape materials
- Operate commercial landscaping equipment including zero-turn mowers, stand-on mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and other equipment
- Maintain a productive pace during 8–10 hour workdays
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Residential landscape installation
- Landscape construction
- Hardscape installation
- Drainage or grading work
- Sod installation
- Skid steer or equipment operation
- Trailer towing
- Construction labor
- Tree service
- Farming or other physically demanding outdoor work
Landscape construction and residential installation experience are highly valued and may qualify applicants for increased responsibilities and advancement opportunities.

Employees are entrusted with company vehicles, trailers, equipment, customer properties, and the reputation of Living Oaks Landscaping. Professional conduct, safe work practices, and quality workmanship are expected at all times.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted in company vehicles, while actively working, or on customer properties. Employees who smoke or vape may do so only during authorized breaks and in approved areas away from customers, company vehicles, and equipment.
Employees are expected to report to work fit for duty, maintain a professional appearance, and provide courteous service to customers and coworkers.

Schedule
- Full-Time
- Typical workday: 6:45 AM – 4:30 PM
- Reporting Location: Powell's Point, NC
- Sundays Off
- Occasional Saturdays may be required due to weather delays or unusual production demands
