About GH Logistics
GH Logistics is a growing, asset-based transportation and supply chain company operating across the United States. We manage a large trailer fleet, service federal contract freight, and support more than 40 customers nationwide.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Brokerage Operations to lead and strengthen brokerage execution across our operations.
This is a highly hands-on leadership position. The right candidate will not lead exclusively from behind a desk. You will spend approximately half of each month embedded with our teams in San Antonio, Memphis, Dallas/Irving, and other locations as business needs require.
All company-required travel expenses are fully covered by GH Logistics.
What You'll Do
As Director of Brokerage Operations, you will work directly with our brokerage teams to improve execution, accountability, efficiency, and profitability across multiple locations.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop brokerage operations teams across multiple markets.
- Work directly alongside QA/QC, Track & Trace, and Load Booking teams.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement measurable improvements.
- Establish clear ownership, expectations, and accountability within each team.
- Own brokerage rate discipline and daily rate review processes.
- Monitor margins and identify unbilled loads, inefficient lanes, coverage gaps, and other areas of margin leakage.
- Develop strong relationships with key customers, carriers, and postal facilities.
- Handle escalated customer and carrier issues and drive them through resolution.
- Coach and develop employees individually based on performance and development needs.
- Improve productivity, coverage rates, quality accuracy, and margin performance.
- Partner closely with senior leadership to execute GH Logistics' brokerage strategy.
- Travel to GH Logistics locations for 1–2 week embedded leadership assignments.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced freight brokerage leader who understands the operation from the floor level—not someone who has only managed from a distance.
Qualifications:
- Proven freight brokerage or logistics operations leadership experience.
- Experience managing a brokerage book, team, desk, or major transportation operation.
- Strong understanding of carrier sourcing, load booking, tracking, quality control, and brokerage execution.
- Strong carrier and customer negotiation skills.
- Experience developing and coaching individual team members.
- Ability to analyze margin and operational reports and turn findings into action.
- Experience managing or influencing operations across multiple locations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to anticipate operational issues before they impact customers or profitability.
- High level of accountability, professionalism, and leadership presence.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the month.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience with a major freight brokerage or transportation company.
- Experience operating a brokerage desk within an asset-based carrier environment.
- Multi-market brokerage leadership experience.
- Established postal or parcel facility relationships.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
Travel Requirements
This position is based at our San Antonio headquarters and requires significant travel.
Approximately half of each month will be spent working from another GH Logistics location, typically in 1–2 week blocks. Travel may include Memphis, Dallas/Irving, and other markets based on operational needs.
GH Logistics covers required business travel expenses. Employees may retain airline miles and hotel loyalty points earned through GH-paid travel. Comp days are provided following two-week embedded travel blocks.
Candidates should be comfortable with this travel structure before applying.

Who Will Succeed in This Role?
This position is designed for a leader who wants to be directly involved in the operation.
You should be comfortable walking into an office, learning how the team operates, identifying what is slowing them down, and working alongside them to make it better.
You lead by being present, solving problems, developing people, and holding a high operational standard.
If you have successfully led freight brokerage operations and are ready to take ownership of a growing multi-site operation, we want to hear from you.
