Respiratory Director
Western Peaks Specialty Hospital, a leader in respiratory and complex medical care, is seeking an experienced Respiratory Director for our 43-bed LTACH hospital.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership for the Respiratory Therapy department, aligning departmental goals with the mission, values, and strategic objectives of Western Peaks Specialty Hospital.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement that supports exceptional patient care and employee engagement.
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop respiratory staff by setting clear expectations, providing timely feedback, recognizing excellence, and addressing performance concerns with consistency and fairness.
- Promote open communication and strong partnerships with physicians, nursing leadership, rehabilitation services, and other interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Maintain high clinical and operational standards by implementing evidence-based practices, monitoring quality metrics, and driving performance improvement initiatives.
- Oversee all aspects of departmental operations, including patient care delivery, staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, equipment management, and service excellence.
- Recruit, onboard, train, evaluate, and retain a highly engaged and skilled respiratory care team.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, legal, and ethical standards while maintaining departmental readiness for internal and external audits.
- Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets while ensuring responsible stewardship of resources and purchasing.
- Resolve patient, family, and staff concerns professionally while fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and service excellence.
- Monitor departmental outcomes and quality indicators, using data to improve processes, patient outcomes, and team performance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct patient care experience in Respiratory Therapy.
- Minimum of two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience in Respiratory Therapy.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
- Current BLS/ACLS
- Demonstrated ability to build strong teams, inspire accountability, and create a positive workplace culture.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in leadership.
- Working knowledge of WellSky and other electronic health record systems.
- Experience with staff development, competency assessment, quality metrics, and outcomes reporting.
Experience:
- Respiratory Therapy: 1 year (Preferred)
- Respiratory Therapy Management : 1 year (Preferred)
- Hospital: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CRT or RRT License (Preferred)
