We are seeking a reliable and skilled Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong understanding of route driving, vehicle operation, and adherence to safety protocols. As a Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and accurate deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Operate delivery vehicles, trucks, and oil tankers, as required.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight safely, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for all shipments.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Assist in the training of new drivers on company policies and safe driving practices.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating various types of vehicles such as oil tanker trucks, and box trucks
- Strong knowledge of route driving techniques and local roadways.
- Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required; additional certifications related to truck driving are a plus.
