Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
Location: Grand Blanc, MI
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: PM Shift (36 or 48 hours/week)
Pay: $4,207 weekly gross (travel)
Position Summary:
The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, high-quality care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to respond quickly in high-acuity situations, and collaboration with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient outcomes throughout the childbirth process.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care during labor and delivery
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using electronic fetal monitoring
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products as ordered
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, inductions, and obstetric emergencies
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
- Recognize and respond appropriately to obstetrical complications and emergencies
- Care for postpartum mothers and newborns per facility guidelines
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, neonatal teams, and support staff
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection control standards

Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license (MI or compact)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP (AHA required)
- Fetal Monitoring certification (Intermediate or Advanced preferred)
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Travel nursing experience
- High-risk obstetrics experience
- C-section circulating experience
- Experience in Level II, III, or IV maternal care settings
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong labor assessment and management skills
- Proficient in fetal monitoring interpretation
- Ability to respond to obstetric emergencies
- Neonatal stabilization knowledge
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Critical thinking and clinical decision-making
