SUMMARY:
The Director of Allied Health Instruction provides leadership and supervision for the Medical Assistant and Medical Billing instructional programs to ensure high-quality instruction, consistent curriculum implementation, faculty accountability, and student success.
The Director supervises and develops instructional faculty and related support staff, monitors instructional quality, and collaborates with school leadership and Student Services to promote student retention, academic achievement, and compliance with institutional policies and standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Allied Health Instructional Leadership and Faculty Development:
- Directly supervises Allied Health instructional faculty and related program support staff.
- Conducts classroom observations to evaluate instructional effectiveness, classroom management, and compliance with institutional expectations.
- Conducts performance evaluations and provides coaching, mentoring, performance improvement plans, and professional development for faculty and support staff, as appropriate.
- Develops and delivers faculty development workshops and instructional in-service training.
- Assists with staff recruitment, interviewing, selection, onboarding, and disciplinary processes.
- Models effective instructional strategies and promotes consistency in instructional quality across Allied Health programs.
- Ensures instructors maintain professional classroom environments that promote learning, accountability, and respect.
- Collects and analyzes instructional and student outcome data; prepares reports and recommendations for school leadership; and participates in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
Instructional Quality Assurance:
- Reviews lesson plans, syllabi, instructional materials, assessments, and grading practices to ensure alignment with approved curricula and learning outcomes.
- Ensures instruction is delivered in accordance with approved curricula, licensing requirements, and institutional standards.
- Audits gradebooks, attendance records, competency documentation, student records, and Student Information System documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Reviews examinations, assignments, pacing guides, and curriculum implementation to ensure instructional consistency and appropriate academic rigor.
- Provides instructional guidance regarding assessment methods, learner engagement, instructional technology, and effective teaching practices.
Student Success and Intervention:
- Collaborates with faculty and Student Services to support student achievement, retention, persistence, and completion.
- Reviews attendance, grades, competency completion, Workplace Expectation Points, and other student performance data to identify students requiring intervention.
- Participates in student success and behavioral intervention meetings and assists faculty in implementing academic improvement strategies.
- Supports conflict resolution between faculty and students.
Workplace Expectation Point System Oversight:
- Monitors implementation of the Workplace Expectation Point System across Allied Health programs.
- Conducts audits to ensure consistent application of student conduct policies and expectations.
- Reviews attendance, professionalism, and behavioral trends and provides guidance to faculty regarding consistent policy enforcement.
- Recommends improvements that strengthen student accountability and success.
Collaboration and Institutional Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Program Directors, Senior Directors, Student Services, Admissions, Employer Partners, and other institutional stakeholders.
- Participates in enrollment management meetings, faculty meetings, and institutional committees.
- Supports commencement, orientation, PA PLS visits, and other institutional initiatives.
- Maintains knowledge of institutional policies and applicable regulations.
- Exhibits understanding and internalization of company values: influence, respect, listen, shape, and embrace.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

This position has direct supervisory responsibility for the Allied Health Program faculty, department coordinator and employment coordinator.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Required Education:
· Bachelor's degree in education, healthcare, healthcare administration, business administration, organizational leadership, or a closely related field.
Preferred Education:
· Master's degree in education, healthcare administration, organizational leadership, instructional design, adult education, or a related field preferred.
Required Experience:
· Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in postsecondary education, workforce development, healthcare education, or a closely related instructional environment.
· Minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising, coaching, or leading instructors, trainers, or clinical educators.
· Experience delivering or supporting instruction for adult learners.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
· Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory, classroom management, and learner assessment.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and student information systems.
Preferred Experience:
· Experience in postsecondary career or technical education.
· Experience with accreditation and regulatory compliance.
· Experience in faculty development or instructional coaching.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a worker to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The worker must possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the worker is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. The worker is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and stoop or kneel. The worker is required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer screen, reading, and preparing and analyzing documents. Light to moderate lifting may be required. Regular, predictable attendance is required.
