We are seeking dedicated Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) to manage various responsibilities while delivering safe, competent, and compassionate care to diverse patient populations in settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation centers. More specifically, CSTs who can:

CST Requirements
- Active, unencumbered CST license from the state in which you plan to work
- Minimum 6 months of CST work experience
- Push, pull, support, and lift a minimum of 80 pounds
- Physical stamina to handle long hours of standing and walking
- Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support preferred)
- Annual physical
CST Responsibilities
As a ShiftMed Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), you’ll be responsible for but not limited to:
- Setting up the instruments and equipment required for procedures
- Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery
- Preparing patients for surgery
- Passing the surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout operations
- Taking a count of all surgical instruments and supplies prior to operations
- Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of operations
- Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout surgery
- Demonstrating effective written and verbal communication
- Promoting a positive work environment and demonstrating a positive attitude

- Hourly pay rates may differ based on the location of ShiftMed healthcare facility partners. All advertised rates reflect the wages ShiftMed partner facilities are currently offering. Hourly rates fluctuate throughout the week depending on the facility you schedule shifts with.
**ShiftMed adheres to CMS and local Department of Health guidance on COVID-19 vaccinations. Healthcare professionals must be up to date on all recommended COVID-19 vaccinations, including a booster dose when required. Healthcare professionals not up to date on COVID-19 vaccination doses may be required to undergo weekly testing and comply with mask mandates at ShiftMed client facilities. Vaccinated workers may still be subject to regular COVID-19 symptom screenings, including temperature and symptom checks.
