Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of hair services including cuts, trims, styling, coloring, and hair extensions with precision and creativity.
- Provide professional barbering services such as straight razor shaves and grooming for men.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all tools, equipment, and work areas following health regulations.
- Use salon software systems to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently.
- Engage with clients through excellent communication skills to understand their needs and recommend suitable services or retail products.
- Upsell retail items like hair care products or accessories to boost sales while ensuring clients receive personalized recommendations.
- Mentor new team members by sharing expertise in hair styling techniques, sanitation practices, and customer service excellence.
- Stay current on industry trends related to hair coloring, styling techniques, and the latest beauty innovations to provide cutting-edge services.
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license as required by local regulations.
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a strong portfolio of hair styling and grooming skills.
- Skilled in various hair techniques including coloring (color theory) and toning.
- Familiarity with sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with diverse clients.
- Ability to perform retail math calculations for upselling products effectively.
- Experience working with retail sales within a salon or spa setting is preferred but not required.
