Bethany of the Northwest, a non-profit, church owned organization with a mission to take care of our community, is looking for a part time Cook and Dietary Aide to work at our Assisted Living facility Silver Crest. The right candidate will have great experience in preparing nutritious meals in large numbers for residents, a current Washington State Food Handler’s permit, a friendly attitude, and excellent communication skills.
Schedule: Cook - Friday & Saturday 11.30am to 6.30pm
Dietary Aide support - Sunday & Monday 3.30pm to 8pm (total 22 hours)
Pay rate: $22 per hour

Job Responsibilities:
1. Review menus prior to preparation of food.
2. Coordinate Dietary Services with other departments as necessary.
3. Assure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
4. Assist in placing orders, taking inventory and other relative duties.
5. Assist in developing methods of determining quality and quantity of food served.
6. Report all accidents/incidents as established by policy.

Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
- Must possess a High School diploma or, GED desirable.

Must have a current food handler’s permit.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.

Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Dietary Department.
