Purpose of the Position:
The Installer's primary responsibility is to assist the Lead Installer in implementing the Project Manager’s plan for getting Kannegiesser equipment & material handling systems into the customer’s building including setting, anchoring, leveling, wiring, and completing the installation of large-scale equipment machinery, and preparing it for commissioning. This position involves working closely with Kannergiesser Installers on both the equipment and logicistic (rail) side as well as Kannegiesser contractors. The Installer, as part of the Installation Team, is to adhere to the provided timeline, ensuring a smooth handover to the Commission and Service Teams and, ultimately, achieving customer satisfaction while upholding Kannegiesser standards and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation of Kannegiesser laundry systems, following detailed plans and instructions provided by the Project Manager and directed by Lead Installer.
- Work closely as a team with Installers (both Equipment and Logistics) to coordinate the installation of equipment and material handling systems ensuring seamless integration.
- Set, anchor, level, and wire equipment as part of the installation process, and ensure readiness for commissioning. Perform or assist in the testing and subsequent adjustment of equipment prior to and during system startups.
- Collaborate with other Kannegiesser team members and contractors to maintain project timelines and meet installation goals.
- Report to the Lead Installer onsite, providing updates on progress and any potential issues.
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs and maintenance on systems as well as clean the work areas at the customer's facility during and after installation.
- Communicate regularly with the Installation Manager to ensure alignment with overall project objectives and to receive support as needed.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, following all company and site-specific safety protocols.
- Be prepared to work extended hours, often 10 or more hours per day, while on the job site to meet project deadlines and ensure successful installation.
- Represent Kannegiesser professionally at all times, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and adhearing to KNA’s Core Values.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed, adapting to the changing needs of the project or team to support the successful completion of the installation and overall objectives.
- For all new hires as of 9/1/2024, must be based within 1-hour drive from US international airport
Academic & Trade Qualifications (required & preferred):
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to become certified in the following areas: OSHA 10 Construction, Forklift, and Scissors Lift.
Work Experience & Skills (required & preferred):
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an construction environment with a background in industrial construction preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including 75% of the time within North America job sites with occasional international travel as needed.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record ensuring the ability to travel between job sites safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of utility requirements including air, water, gas, steam, and electrical systems as needed.
- Experience with installing automated systems preferred.
- Previous experience in the laundry industry is highly desirable.
Machinery & Technology Experience & Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting advanced electrical schematics.
- Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.).
- Proficiency in inventory management software and systems (ERP). Experience in Encompix and/or SAP preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, raise, lower, push or carry up to 50 lbs. from ground to waist, waist to overhead and from one surface to another at mid level.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods.
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel or crawl often in small or cramped spaces.
- Ability to ascend or descend structures like ladders, scaffolding, ropes or poles that require the use of both upper and lower body to climb up to 35 feet tall.
- Ability to work on equipment that is over individuals head and shoulders/at or below the shoulders while standing/sitting.
- Ability to walk/navigate/stand on both even and uneven surfaces.
- Physical dexterity to manipulate small parts including ability to grasp and pinch small objects.
- Ability to enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-Key.
- Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (that is, working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
- Clarity of depth perception both less than 20 inches and more than 20 inches.
- Ability to accurately determine color and distinguish between colors.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech both in person, by telephone or other technology.
