Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen stations, adhering strictly to food safety sanitizing procedures
- Support the cooking process by mastering techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production for high-volume service
- Handle food safely during all stages of preparation and service, ensuring proper food handling practices are followed at all times
- Contribute to menu planning discussions and suggest improvements based on culinary experience and customer feedback
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean workspace
- Support dishwashing duties to ensure timely cleaning of utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
Experience
- Prior dietary department or dietary aide experience is highly valued
- Proven culinary experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings demonstrates strong food preparation skills
- Skilled in various cooking techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and food production processes
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures is essential for maintaining health standards
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred
- Strong knife skills combined with high-volume production experience will set candidates apart
- Familiarity with the food industry’s best practices for serving customers efficiently while ensuring quality standards are met
