About Matilda
Matilda is a neighborhood dinner restaurant in Park City inspired by modern hospitality, seasonal cooking, and a relaxed but refined dining experience.
We focus on thoughtful food, a well-curated beverage program, and service that feels warm, polished, and genuinely welcoming without being formal or rigid. Guests come to Matilda for dinner with friends, date nights, and memorable meals that feel special but still comfortable and approachable.
We’ve built a team that cares deeply about quality, consistency, and hospitality, and we’re looking for a Front of House Manager to help lead that standard every night.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role. You are not managing from the sidelines, you are on the floor, in service, setting the tone and driving the guest experience in real time.
As Front of House Manager, you are responsible for how the room feels, the pace and flow of service, the coordination between FOH and kitchen, and the overall standard of hospitality from the moment guests are seated to the moment they leave.
You will lead the front-of-house team through dinner service, support the bar and service teams during peak periods, and ensure Matilda operates smoothly, consistently, and with intention.
What You Will Do
Lead the Floor
- Be a visible, present leader during every service
- Set the tone for calm, confident, attentive hospitality, especially during busy dinner service
- Actively support the floor, including hosting, running food, managing sections, or assisting behind the bar when needed
- Ensure guests feel welcomed, cared for, and well looked after throughout their experience
Build and Support the Team
- Lead, coach, and support servers, hosts, bartenders, and support staff
- Hire, train, and onboard new team members who align with Matilda’s culture and standards
- Provide clear, direct feedback that helps develop stronger hospitality professionals
- Build a team culture that is accountable, supportive, and focused on excellence under pressure
Run Great Service
- Oversee daily FOH operations from pre-shift through close
- Ensure smooth coordination between FOH and kitchen throughout service
- Own scheduling and staffing aligned with reservations and expected covers
- Maintain a high standard of pacing, timing, and table management during service
- Ensure the dining room is consistently clean, organized, and properly set
Create an Exceptional Guest Experience
- Deliver a level of hospitality that makes guests want to return
- Anticipate guest needs and guide the experience from arrival to departure
- Handle guest feedback with professionalism, urgency, and care
- Maintain Matilda’s standard of warm, refined, and attentive service
Support the Business
- Monitor labor and help ensure efficient, sustainable operations
- Support daily cash handling and end-of-shift reconciliation
- Assist with private dining and special events when needed
- Help maintain consistency in standards, systems, and execution
Beverage and Service Coordination
- Work closely with the bar and culinary teams to ensure smooth service flow
- Support consistency and timing across both food and beverage programs during peak service periods
Events and Private Dining
- Respond to and manage inquiries for private dining and special events
- Lead on-site execution of events, ensuring seamless coordination and guest experience
- Coordinate FOH staffing, setup, and service flow for events
- Act as the primary FOH contact during events to ensure standards are met
- Work closely with ownership on planning, communication, and follow-up
- Eligible for a share of event service charges based on involvement and execution quality
What We Are Looking For
- Evening schedule with weekend work required; holiday availability as needed
- 2–5 years of restaurant leadership experience, preferably in full-service or upscale casual dining
- Strong presence on the floor with the ability to lead service in real time
- Calm, confident decision-making during high-volume dinner service
- Strong hospitality instincts with attention to detail and guest experience
- Clear communication style with a focus on accountability and teamwork
- Experience with POS systems, reservations platforms, and scheduling tools
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and peak service periods
- Someone who thrives in service, not behind a desk
What Success Looks Like
- Service feels smooth, controlled, and well-paced even during peak covers
- Guests consistently have memorable dining experiences and return regularly
- The FOH team operates with clarity, confidence, and teamwork
- Communication between FOH and kitchen is efficient and consistent
- Matilda continues to be recognized as one of Park City’s standout dining experiences
