Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their food and pastry orders with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, pastries, cakes, and other food items according to established recipes and standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, knives, and other culinary tools
- Ensure all food handling practices adhere to safety regulations and maintain proper food safety management protocols
- Maintain a clean workspace by regularly cleaning surfaces, utensils, equipment, and storage areas to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Package food items accurately for takeout or delivery orders while ensuring presentation quality
- Support high-volume production by following recipe adherence and assisting in the preparation of baked goods for catering or retail sales
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, baking, cake decorating or pastry preparation within a busy kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment confidently and safely
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and portioning
- Experience with food industry best practices including packaging, recipe adherence, and high-volume production
- Culinary experience with cake decorating or pastry arts is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
