Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist for the 2nd shift to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC machining equipment to produce precision metal components. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of CNC programming, machining tools, and blueprint interpretation, ensuring high-quality production standards. Duties
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper machine configuration and tooling.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, and CAM software such as Mazatrol, to produce complex parts.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements.
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments for quality control.
- Conduct machine calibrations, adjustments, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance.
- Execute manual machining operations when necessary to support production or tooling modifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in the inspection of finished parts utilizing GD&T principles and quality measurement tools to ensure specifications are met.
- Support machine setup processes including tooling selection, fixture installation, and calibration.
- Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives related to machining processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and mills in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code, M-code, and Mazatrol.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and GD&T standards.
- Knowledge of CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD is preferred for tooling design or modifications.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and bore gauges accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining tools, tooling setup, and manual machining techniques.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements and tolerances.
- Experience with manufacturing standards related to CNC quality inspection and measurement accuracy.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and mechanical blueprints effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in high-volume production settings.
