Sarasota County’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) department is looking for a Warehouse Technician (IT Professional I) to join the team. This hands-on role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a warehouse environment and is comfortable with receiving, organizing, tracking, and moving equipment. You’ll support the PC refresh project and help keep the EIT Warehouse running smoothly, from shipping and receiving to inventory and equipment delivery.

In this role, you will...
Receive, prepare, organize, and process computers, monitors, peripherals, and other technology equipment for deployment, return, repair, surplus, or disposal.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized technology warehouse, including inventory, storage areas, racks, and shelving.
Image, configure, install software, test, and prepare technology equipment for deployment to County employees.
Prepare and maintain loaner equipment and perform basic troubleshooting of computers, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals.
Maintain accurate electronic inventory and asset records, including equipment status, location, and lifecycle information.
Assist with equipment repairs, warranty claims, replacements, and related documentation and shipping.
Safely load, transport, deliver, and retrieve technology equipment between County facilities using County vehicles.
Support the ongoing improvement of technology warehouse, inventory, and equipment lifecycle processes.
Work Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (no weekends!)

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
Minimum of a 2-year degree with 1-year of related experience.
OR: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
OR: 3+ years of related professional experience may substitute for the formal education at the discretion of management.
Valid Florida driver's license within 30 days of hire.
The ideal candidate has the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:

Ability to obtain CompTIA A+ Certification within 1 year of hire.
2+ years of related business or technology experience, including working with Windows, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, related software and systems, and technology equipment in a warehouse or storage environment.
Experience handling, organizing, storing, and maintaining computers, peripherals, and other technology-related equipment.
Working knowledge of warehouse operations, tools, and equipment (such as pallet jacks), as well as the storage and management of technology equipment, including AV, network, telecommunications, server, and computer equipment.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of 5 years.
Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs. Employees can use handling devices (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessive poundage of 50-plus pounds.
CJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as part of the hiring process.
Starting Pay: $28.34/hr, based on experience.
