At American Anthracite, we are moving earth and driving the standard for safe, efficient mining operations in Northeast Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking an experienced, safety-driven Dozer Operator to join our frontline extraction team.
If you know how to read the ground, push heavy material efficiently, and take pride in caring for your machine, we want you in the cab.
What You Will Do As a Dozer Operator at American Anthracite, you aren't just moving dirt—you are setting the pace for the entire pit. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Heavy Pushing & Ripping: Operating large track dozers to strip overburden, rip hard material, and push anthracite to feed our extraction loaders and excavators.
- Site Maintenance: Cutting and maintaining safe, level benches, highwalls, and haul roads to ensure our haul trucks can cycle safely and efficiently.
- Dump Management: Managing spoil piles and dump areas, keeping edges safe and material moving.
- Machine Ownership: Conducting thorough pre-shift and post-shift walk-arounds. You will be responsible for checking fluids, clearing tracks, and communicating directly with our Maintenance Planners and shop mechanics regarding any fault codes, abnormal wear, or needed repairs.
- Safety First: Operating strictly within MSHA regulations and American Anthracite’s safety protocols. We expect you to keep your head on a swivel and look out for your crew.
What You Need to Bring to the Table
- Experience: Proven seat time operating heavy track dozers (CAT D8/D9/D10 or equivalent) in a mining, quarry, or heavy civil construction environment.
- Precision: The ability to cut grade to plan and maintain highly organized pit floors.
- Reliability: A track record of showing up on time and punching in ready to work. Our multi-shift operations rely on crews that don't quit until the relief shows up.
