Job Summary
Morning Barista serving customers. 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday at the Grand Marsh Bragozzo Cafe in Momence, Illinois.
We are seeking an energetic and friendly Barista to join our vibrant café team! In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment, crafting delicious coffee beverages and providing exceptional customer service. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a warm, inviting atmosphere where customers feel valued and eager to return. As a key team member, you will handle retail sales transactions, operate POS systems efficiently, and ensure food safety standards are maintained. Your passion for coffee and service excellence will drive memorable experiences for every guest.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and care
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for smooth retail sales transactions
- Manage cash handling accurately, including cash register operations and balancing drawers at shift end
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders efficiently, and addressing inquiries promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food preparation areas and serving stations
- Assist with food handling, basic food preparation, and serving snacks or light meals as needed
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies, monitoring product freshness, and recording sales data accurately
Experience
- Prior barista experience or background in coffee service is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Experience in retail sales transactions, cashiering, or food service environments is beneficial
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures in a café or food industry setting
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
