Jo Ann Warren Studio / Studio Youth Theatre is seeking a Vocal Instructor for the 2026–2027 season to join our performing arts faculty and help young performers build confidence, technique, and a genuine love of singing and performance.
This is a great fit for someone who loves working with young performers and can make vocal training both high-quality and fun, while creating a supportive environment where each student feels comfortable developing their individual voice.

Position Requirements
- Experience in vocal instruction, music education, musical theatre, or a related field.
- Experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged students.
- Knowledge of healthy, age-appropriate vocal technique.
- Ability to lead both group instruction and individual vocal work.
- Professional, reliable, enthusiastic, and collaborative.
- Ability to provide strong references.
- Reliable transportation.
- Background check required before employment is finalized.
Preferred
- College coursework or degree in vocal performance, music education, musical theatre, performing arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Piano proficiency or ability to accompany students is strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing young performers for auditions and musical theatre performances.
Role Breakdown
Vocal Instructor
September 14, 2026 – May 8, 2027
Teach bi-weekly voice classes as part of Studio Youth Theatre's performing arts curriculum. Throughout the season, programming will alternate between voice and theatre, giving students a well-rounded foundation while keeping classes engaging and performance-focused.
Responsibilities may include:
- Developing engaging, age-appropriate vocal curriculum.
- Teaching healthy vocal technique, including breath support, pitch, tone, diction, projection, and musicality.
- Working on musical theatre repertoire and performance skills.
- Helping students build confidence and discover their individual voices.
- Preparing students for studio performances and other opportunities throughout the season.
- Collaborating with the Theatre Instructor and studio team to create a connected performing arts program.
Additional vocal coaching, musical theatre production, private lesson, and summer opportunities may also be available throughout the season.

Schedule: Bi-weekly instruction, September–May
Compensation: Based on experience and scope of responsibilities
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
