Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. This vital role involves helping clients maintain their independence, ensuring their safety, and enhancing their overall well-being through personalized care. Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs and overall condition, reporting any concerns promptly
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Facilitate patient transfer using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods to ensure safety during movement
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and social engagement
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and hospice care best practices
- Familiarity with care plans, patient monitoring techniques, and medication administration procedures
- Ability to assist with ADLs and manual handling safely while adhering to HIPAA guidelines
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as Hoyer lift operation or vital signs training are a plus
- Experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly desirable
