Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Super Heavy Haul Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating specialized trailers, TK300 and 12 Axle Goldhofer trailers, of which experience with these trailers is required. Your expertise in navigating complex routes, adhering to safety regulations, and managing large cargo will ensure the successful delivery of Transformers and other Oversized loads. This position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver freight on Southeastern Regional routes. This role can be Hourly or Salary based. Pier Diem is available also. This role is not only driving you will be part of the Jack and Slide crew which is physically demanding. Looking for a very specific and niche individual in Georgia or surrounding states.
Duties
- Operate super heavy haul tractor-trailers with precision, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards..
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload oversized and heavy cargo such as transformers, or specialized equipment across diverse routes.
- Work as part of Jack and Slide crew when loading and unloading trailers.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all safety protocols.
- Work on yard in Lake City, GA.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all deliveries, including logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, inspection reports, and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate route planning, delivery schedules, and any unforeseen issues during transit.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience with Super Heavy Loads, and TK300 or Goldhofer style trailers
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to super heavy haul operations; experience with manual transmission preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex logistics cargo handling tasks safely and efficiently.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with route driving across long distances on diverse terrains.
- Experience with Jack and Slide loading and unloading of trailers.
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
