Job description
We are looking for an experienced Transmission and Differential builder for an independent Toyota/Lexus service center, who enjoys diagnosing, rebuilding, and improving driveline components. This is a fast paced job that requires multitasking as we are always VERY busy! If you're someone who enjoys building drivetrains instead of simply replacing parts, and want to work in a well-equipped shop with a great team, we'd love to hear from you.
Duties:
- Diagnose transmission, transfer case, and differential concerns.
- Rebuild and assemble manual and automatic transmissions.
- Diagnosis engine, suspension and drivetrain related issues
- Rebuild differentials, including setting ring and pinion backlash and bearing preload
- Install gears. lockers, limited- slip differential, and aftermarket driveline components.
- Perform transfer case repairs and rebuilds
- Test drive and verify repairs
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs
- Ideally can alignments on Hunter alignment machine
- Keep work area clean on a daily basis
Requirements:
- Previous professional expereince rebuilding transmissions and or differentials.
- Experience as a mechanic or in a similar role required.
- Strong understanding of drivetrains and/or differentials
- Experience with Toyota/Lexus vehicals preferred, but not required.
- Ability to diagnose complex mechanical problems
- High attention to details
- Ability to work independently while maintaining quality.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
