Job Overview
Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Summer Camp Bus Driver! In this role, you will have two runs each day (Monday - Friday) morning and late afternoon. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to combine your driving skills with your passion for working with children, all while enjoying the lively summer camp atmosphere.
Duties
- Safely operate bus for transporting children, staff, and visitors to and from camp
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and camp policies to ensure secure transportation at all times
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of bus to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness
- Communicate effectively with camp staff, parents, and children to coordinate schedules and address any concerns
- Assist with behavior management onboard the bus to promote a positive and respectful environment
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs
- Provide excellent customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere for all passengers
Requirements
- Valid CDL driver’s license with bus endorsement with a clean driving record; experience in bus or commercial driving preferred
- Proven experience in school bus driving or paratransit services is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is preferred
- Ability to handle behavior management effectively and maintain safety standards onboard
- Knowledge of local traffic laws, safety regulations, and child passenger safety requirements
- Enthusiastic, responsible, and committed to providing exceptional service in a summer camp environment
