JOB TITLE: Scale Technician DATE: 4/2026
REPORTS TO: Scale Technician Supervisor STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and/or installing equipment including Inline scales, labeling equipment, bar code readers and Misc. machine control throughout the facility.
DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assure equipment calibrated appropriately for scheduled production size or mix and change as necessary to support fulfillment of production needs.

2. Perform equipment audits at scheduled intervals and when performance of equipment would require it, as well as recording results of audits.

3. Make adjustments to machines based on audits, and report adjustments or changes to meet alarm criteria.

4. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed or assigned.
- 5. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with team leader, peers, team members, and department heads.

6. Provide feedback to supervisor regarding equipment or process concerns.

7. Attend meetings and trainings as required.

8. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

9. Assist maintenance staff or other departments as requested by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

MUST have a minimum of 6 months industrial maintenance experience.

MUST be comfortable and experienced utilizing hand and power tools of all varieties.

MUST know how to accurately use and read a tape measure as well as industrial blueprints.

MUST have basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components.

General knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, Sensors, along with corresponding programing software.
- Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with all plant employees, as well as third party vendors and contractors.

Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed.

Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.

Ability to read, write and speak English.

Ability to work with a group of technicians or autonomously with limited supervision.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position.

MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift.

MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
1. Knowledge of Inline scales, Bar code readers, Labeling equipment, Metal Detectors and corresponding programing software is preferred.
