Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence among preschool-aged children.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and respect among students.
- Conduct child development assessments to monitor progress and tailor instruction to meet individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or development.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student activities, assessments, and incident reports.
- Lead activities that promote physical health and wellness, including basic physical education exercises suitable for young children.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan special events, classroom activities, and assessments using standardized testing when appropriate.
Requirements
- 45 Childcare Hours (or in process)
- Background check (clearinghouse)
- At least 18 years old
- Bilingual (verbal only)
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is essential; familiarity with toddler care is highly valued.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Experience developing curriculum content across core subjects such as literacy education, math, and physical education for young learners.
- Proven classroom management skills that foster a positive learning environment while maintaining discipline.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork within an educational setting.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials related to special education or childhood development are a plus.
- Previous experience teaching in private schools or daycare centers enhances your suitability for this role.
