Job Overview
We are hiring for a full-time Injection Molding Mold Setter. Experience is preferred, but no prior experience is required — we are willing to train the right person from the ground up.
As a Mold Setter, you’ll be responsible for changing molds, setting up injection molding machines, and getting production jobs running correctly. New hires will receive 4–6 weeks of paid, hands-on training while working alongside one of our experienced mold setters.
This is a great opportunity for someone mechanically inclined, dependable, and interested in learning a skilled trade in a clean, comfortable manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work with our injection molding machines to prepare and change molds for production. Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing and removing injection molds
- Setting up molds, including water lines, hot runners, and other connections
- Setting machine temperatures, pressures, speeds, and other basic processing parameters
- Starting up machines and making adjustments to get production running properly
- Performing basic quality checks on molded parts
- Troubleshooting common molding and setup issues
- Keeping molds, machines, and work areas clean and organized
- Assisting with routine machine and mold maintenance
- Working with production employees to ensure jobs are running correctly and efficiently
Work Environment
- Indoor, air-conditioned facility
- Combination of standing, walking, and occasional lifting throughout the day
- Regular lifting and handling of molds and tooling with the use of overhead lifting equipment
- Work around injection molding machinery and production equipment
- Clean, organized manufacturing environment
- Small, friendly team
- Generally laid-back working environment that is not overly fast-paced
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, and willing to learn. Previous injection molding or mold-setting experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
The ideal candidate:
- Shows up on time and takes pride in their work
- Pays attention to detail
- Can follow instructions and work independently once trained
- Is comfortable working with tools and machinery
- Has good mechanical aptitude and enjoys figuring out how things work
- Is willing to learn injection molding processes and equipment
- Can safely handle molds and tooling using proper lifting equipment
Experience That’s a Plus
- Previous injection molding experience
- Previous experience as a mold setter or machine setup technician
- Experience with DME MUD (Mold Unit Die) systems
- Experience setting up or operating injection molding machines
- Basic mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic experience
- Experience with mold maintenance or troubleshooting
Training
No previous mold-setting experience is required. New employees will be paid for all training and will work directly alongside an experienced mold setter for approximately 4–6 weeks.
During training, you’ll learn our equipment, molds, setup procedures, safety practices, and production processes. The goal is to give you the hands-on experience necessary to confidently perform mold changes and machine setups on your own.
