About the Opportunity
This is not a shadow program. You will work on real projects, with real stakeholders, in a government contracting environment where the stakes are real. By the end of the program, you will present a Capstone deliverable to GAMA-1 leadership — something you built, something that matters, something that reflects what you are capable of.
You will join GAMA-1's Professional Services team and work alongside business analysts, operations specialists, finance professionals, and contract managers who keep the organization running. Your work will directly connect to how GAMA-1 wins, delivers, and sustains government contracts in both remote and on-site work environments.
The program is structured around three phases: learn and orient (Weeks 1–4), contribute and build (Weeks 5–8), and finalize and present (Weeks 9–12). You will have a dedicated supervisor, a structured 30-60-90-day plan, and cross-functional exposure across GAMA-1's business units.
What You Will Do in This Role
-
Contribute to meaningful business work across finance, operations, contracts, business development, or people operations, aligned with your skills and the team’s evolving priorities.
Design and develop your Capstone deliverable: a business case, analytical framework, process improvement, recommendation memo, or operational model that addresses a real GAMA-1 need
-
Support business reviews, proposal development, contract administration, or workforce planning activities
-
Attend structured cross-functional sessions with Finance, Contracts, Business Development, Operations, and Quality to understand how each function drives organizational performance
-
Present your Capstone findings and recommendations to GAMA-1 leadership at the close of the program
The Capstone Project
The internship program includes a Capstone: a signature deliverable that you define, build, and present to GAMA-1 leadership at the end of Week 12. Your Capstone should answer one clear question connected to a real GAMA-1 or agency need, often inspired by a gap, inefficiency, or business challenge you observe during your first few weeks. Past deliverables have included workforce capacity models, proposal risk assessment frameworks, KPI dashboards, competitive analyses, and internal process improvement recommendations.
Your Capstone is intended to be practical, actionable, and relevant to the business. Rather than serving as a summary of your internship experience, it should demonstrate a solution, recommendation, or tool that provides meaningful value to the organization.
