We are a scenic/themed art studio looking for a scenic carpenter. We need an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials, as well as experience working in a scenic shop. Working with little supervision and the ability to work on time sensitive projects. Must have reliable transportation (we would prefer a pick-up truck). Must have personal tools available when shop tools aren't provided. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends as needed.

Responsibilities
- Read basic CAD blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
- Build scaffolding and other construction structures
Skills
- Proven experience as carpenter, minimum 5 years experience
- Ability to read CAD blueprints
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Good knowledge of English
- Good understanding of basic math
- Good physical condition and endurance
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
