Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed to support the culinary team’s workflow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing areas and storage spaces to meet sanitation standards
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas remain tidy and welcoming for guests
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and supplies safely and efficiently during daily operations
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Assist in food handling tasks when required, adhering to proper hygiene practices and food safety management protocols
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and other cleaning tools safely and effectively
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items regularly throughout shifts
- Excellent attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and adhering to health regulations
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to support a collaborative work environment
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
