This position is in our Long Island City office and is full time with company benefits
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate Polar Cutters and 45-inch Challenge cutter
Set up, adjust and operate designated bindery equipment.
Troubleshoots problems to maintain quality standards and to keep equipment in running condition - request maintenance as required.
Examines product frequently to ensure that it meets customer quality specifications.
Maintain a safe, clean work area at all times.
Perform duties safely and maintain a high level of safety awareness.
Read and interpret written job tickets or other job specifications containing bindery requirements.
Ability to lift and push up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to maintain good attendance.
Must be willing to work weekend overtime as needed.
Must be able to flex schedule to meet the needs of production, including working a different shift if needed.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED
· 2 years Bindery Experience
· Must be detail-oriented
· Understanding of production and plant processes
· Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement
· Ability to follow written and oral instructions
· Ability to work in a team
· Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, to use hands and wrists to load paper, and to stand or walk for long periods of time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
