Pacific Retina Center, PLLC
Our practice is seeking an ophthalmic technician on a full time basis. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician. This individual is motivated, enthusiastic and team-oriented, and is genuinely interested in providing quality patient care.
Pacific Retina Center, PLLC is a retina practice in Washington State with our office in Renton, WA. We are in search of an Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician to join our team working in our Renton office, close to Valley Medical Center.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct patient work-ups including obtaining medical history
- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment including slit lamp and administering eye medications
- Conduct diagnostic testing including measuring vision, tonometry, OCT, ICG, and Fluorescein Angiography
- Assist the physicians with ophthalmic patient procedures
- Accurately scribe including proper documentation and charting of the examination
- Answer patient questions and telephone inquiries, including but not limited to, attaining resolution to patient problems
- Maintain a smooth clinic flow of patients
- Provide support to the front desk staff by returning patient phone calls, managing prescription refills, and scheduling appointments
- Other clinical and administrative tasks as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Superior customer service skills with experience working with the public
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and knowledge of medical terminology
- Management of multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
- Well-organized with attention to detail
- Knowledge of clinical processes and procedures
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and use of Electronic Medical Records
- Empathetic personality with concern for patients’ needs
- Reliable transportation
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 1 year experience as an Ophthalmic Technician OR 2 years as a Medical Assistant or equivalent education/experience (prefer experience in retina but not required). Will consider recent CMA graduates.
- JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- High School diploma /GED required
