Independent Freight Dispatcher - 1099 (Remote)
Faithway Dispatch LLC is an Alabama-based freight dispatch company seeking a motivated, dependable, and professional Independent Freight Dispatcher to join our growing operation.
FULLY REMOTE — ALABAMA RESIDENTS ONLY
This is a fully remote position. Applicants must currently reside in the state of Alabama.
This is an independent contractor (1099) opportunity for an individual who understands the trucking industry, is comfortable communicating with brokers and carriers, and can independently manage dispatch responsibilities from a remote work environment.
Responsibilities
As an independent dispatcher working with Faithway Dispatch LLC, responsibilities may include:
- Search load boards for available freight
- Identify loads that fit assigned carrier equipment, lanes, and requirements
- Contact brokers and shippers
- Negotiate freight rates and accessorial charges
- Review rate confirmations and load details
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Communicate load information to assigned carriers
- Track loads and provide updates when needed
- Communicate professionally with brokers, shippers, and carriers
- Maintain accurate load and dispatch records
- Build professional relationships with brokers and transportation contacts
- Assist with carrier onboarding and documentation when requested
- Use applicable Faithway Dispatch systems and procedures
- Complete dispatch responsibilities accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Must currently reside in Alabama
- Previous freight dispatching or trucking experience preferred
- Knowledge of the transportation industry
- Familiarity with freight load boards
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Comfortable making professional phone calls
- Professional email and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Reliable and responsive communication
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to manage responsibilities without constant supervision
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and grow with Faithway Dispatch
Remote Work Requirements
Because this is a fully remote position, the contractor must have:
- Reliable high-speed internet
- A dependable computer
- A professional, quiet workspace
- Ability to make and receive phone calls
- Ability to communicate through email and company systems
- Reliable availability while actively providing dispatch services
Independent Contractor / 1099
This is an independent contractor position and not an employee position.
The contractor is responsible for managing their own work methods, time, and applicable business expenses while providing the agreed-upon dispatch services.
The contractor is responsible for their own applicable federal, state, and local tax obligations.
Additional terms and expectations will be outlined in the Independent Contractor Agreement.
Availability
Dispatching requires communication with brokers, shippers, and carriers during normal transportation business hours.
Availability and dispatch coverage will be discussed and mutually agreed upon with the independent contractor based on carrier needs and the contractor’s availability.
The contractor must maintain dependable communication while actively providing dispatch services.
Compensation
Compensation will be discussed during the interview and will be based on experience, qualifications, and the scope of services provided.
Additional compensation details will be provided during the interview and outlined in the Independent Contractor Agreement.
