The Concrete Plant Operator is responsible for operating the concrete plant and supervising daily activities at the plant site. This position is posted for a traveling crew. This crew is currently working around the Bismarck, ND area and works primarily throughout North Dakota year to year.

Duties and responsibilities
- Safe operation of the Concrete Plant with up-to-date computerized equipment controls
- Oversee plant maintenance and operation
- Work closely with the Quality Control Department
- Calibrate plant for maximum efficiency
- Monitor inventory levels for all of the mix materials
- Determine the proper quantities of materials needed to produce mix
- Ensure that the equipment & plant functions as designed at all times
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions in order to minimize downtime as well as striving to improve equipment/plant operating efficiency to maximize production, save time, save fuel, and minimize labor
- In charge of plant tear-down and plant sets
- Daily reporting
- All other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations
Qualifications
- Two years of experience in or around a concrete plant required
- DOT Concrete Plant and/or ACI Testing Certifications a plus
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment
Working conditions
- Indoor/Outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures
- Occasional exposure to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises.
Physical requirements
- Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner.
- Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments.
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment.
- Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
- Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds
